Hill Muscle Model
Short definition
Phenomenological muscle model: active force generator plus force-length and force-velocity curves.
Full definition
The Hill model is the standard phenomenological muscle model: a contractile element (active force depending on activation, length and velocity) in parallel with passive elasticity, in series with the tendon. Implemented in OpenSim as Millard, DeGrooteFregly, etc.
Examples
A Hill model with elastic tendon underlies BioSim calculations.
