Zass chains

Two vertical bar anchors per Alexander Zass’s method

MIDA

Short definition

Chains pull only: static tension ΣT = P − Mvg·g; above the slack onset (T_dyn ≥ T_stat) the chain slaps.

Full definition

Two chains link the platform to bar brackets (anchors per Zass, 1019.25 mm spacing): statically ΣT = P − Mvg·g (an engine equilibrium check), chains work in tension only with slack control. Dynamically the engine finds the frequency where T_dyn ≥ T_stat — above it the chain slaps and the linear model overestimates (a page note). A link is 44×20×5 mm, 15.335 g; L_chain = H_phase − 30 − 98 mm at a 34 mm pitch.

Examples

P = 60 kgf, Mvg = 7.32 kg → ΣT = 52.7 kgf across two chains (26.3 kgf each).
