ISO 2631

Human exposure to mechanical vibration (ISO)

Biomechanics

Short definition

Standard for human exposure to mechanical vibration; in VibroTheory — RMS acceleration limits for the hands.

Full definition

VibroTheory applies an ISO 2631 reference RMS acceleration limit for the hands: anchor points 10 Hz → 25, 100 Hz → 8, 200 Hz → 5 m/s² with log-linear interpolation in between. On the simulation and sweep pages a_rms(f_work) is compared with the limit and flagged OK / Over limit.

Examples

a_rms(25 Hz) = 0.12 m/s² against a ≈ 20.6 m/s² limit — OK.
