kgf (kilogram-force)
Kilogram-force
Short definition
A force unit: 1 kgf = 9.80665 N — the weight of a 1 kg mass at standard gravity.
Full definition
The kilogram-force is a technical force unit: the pull of a 1 kg mass at standard gravity g = 9.80665 m/s². It is intuitive for users because a force in kgf is numerically equal to a mass in kg, so the static load is simply P[kgf] = %MVC × MVC. In VibroTheory internals and the DB store forces in SI (N, fields *_n); all user-facing pages and charts display kgf.
Examples
Static load at 60 %MVC with MVC of 60 kg equals 36 kgf.
