Forward Kinematics

Biomechanics

Short definition

Computing body-segment positions and orientations from given joint angles.

Full definition

Forward kinematics computes Cartesian coordinates of all model points from generalized coordinates (joint angles). The inverse problem, finding angles from measured marker positions, is inverse kinematics.

Examples

Forward kinematics of MergedV6 for elbow angles 0–120°.
